April 20, 9a-1p | A Morning with Mundo | Aldo Leopold Nature Center
Celebrate Earth Day with Mundo Esperanza: World Hope and learn about the different ways we are working to heal the planet and ourselves. With talks and speakers on Traditional Environmental Knowledge, the Land Spirit Project, modern practices of prescribed fires, a conservation project in Peru, the connection between Art and the Environment, and more.
This is a free event!
Come for the whole program or attend only a portion.
A native plant sale will also be happening on site throughout this event.
April 20, 21, 22 | Native Plant Sale | Aldo Leopold Nature Center
Residential orders: Plants arrive as 2×2 plugs, $5 a piece. Pick up will be at Aldo Leopold Nature Center on
April 20 from 9-1p,
April 21 from 10-2p, and
April 22 from 9-4p.
Business orders: plants are free of charge, with planting assistance, native plant garden signage, and social media recognition for your efforts. Planting assitance will be available on
April 26 from 2-4p.

Aldo Leopold Nature Center will be hosting a native plant sale to help you beautify your space, and provide habitat for pollinators. Plants will be sourced from Good Oak Ecological Services. The proceeds from the sale will benefit continued programing at the nature center.

Join the volunteer cleanup among the trees and along the shorline of San Damiano Park. Refreshments will be provided.
April 20, 10-12a | Earth Day Challenge | Monona Parks & Rec
Celebrate Earth Day with your neighbors and friends by volunteering to clean up your local park! Join this community-wide volunteer effort to help make a difference.
Accept the Earth Day Challenge with Madison Parks! We are seeking 900 volunteers at 60+ parks, located throughout the city to assist with trash pickup, raking, weeding, and removing sticks. We supply gloves, garbage bags and rakes. Rakes at each park will be based on the number of volunteers participating.
TO PICK UP SUPPLIES: Look for the Earth Day Challenge sign in each of the designated parks. No staff is onsite during the event.
Parks throughout the city, locations and number of volunteers is listed under the registration link.
All ages are welcome to participate. Advanced registration is required for anyone 10 years and older.

Do your part to keep our public spaces wonderful places to be by participating in this quick, kid-friendly clean up near the play structure at Winnequah Park, with the crew from Aldo Leopold Nature Center and Monona East Side Business Alliance.
April 22, 12-2:30p | Do More Trash Bash | Throughout Monona
Join the “Do More Trash Bash” from Monona Parks & Rec for a race to collect the most pounds of waste at public and commercial spaces throughout Monona. A $100 Kwik Trip gift card will be awarded to the winning team. Register with Monona Parks & Rec.
April 26, 2-4p | Planting for Business | At Your Location
Let us help you add native plants to your commercial space! Monona businesses are eligible to receive free native plants, planting assistance, signage marking your native habitat, and social media recognition for your efforts. Pre-order by April 17, planting assistance will take place April 26 from 2-4p.
