Monona's Memorial Day Parade

The Monona Memorial Day Parade is held each Memorial Day running from Monona Grove High School to Sennett Middle School.

The parade begins at 10am and wraps up close to noon. (See below for the detailed schedule and post-parade activities.) This parade celebrates our Veterans and brings the community together for a fun event showcasing many local groups, businesses, and first and foremost Veterans. Following the parade throughout the day VFW Post 7591 holds services at Blooming Grove Cemetery, Roselawn Cemetery, Highland Memorial Cemetery, Madison’s Veterans Memorial Park, and VFW 7591.

A message from Greg Chille, organizer of the VFW Memorial Day Ceremony:

On Memorial Day, Monday May 25th, 2026, Black Knights & Day Marchers will lead Monona’s 69th Memorial Day Parade and conduct several Memorial Day ceremonies in Monona, Madison and Cottage Grove, to honor our Nation’s military members that we have lost.

These ceremonies are outdoors, and we invite the public to join us beginning 9:30am at the Monona Grove High School flag pole followed by the parade and ceremonies at several locations listed below.

Finally, we end our day at our post home, 301 Cottage Grove Rd., to honor our those from our post and auxiliary who have passed since last Memorial Day.

Memorial Day events for The Day Post 7591 are as follows:

  • MONONA PARADE -10:00AM
  • BLOOMING GROVE CEMETERY – 11:15AM
  • ROSELAWN CEMETERY, MONONA, – 12:00 NOON
