Monona’s
Summer Sundays
May-Oct 2026
Citywide celebrations of summer – from sunrise to sunset.
Welcome to Sundays in Monona—where music drifts through the trees, food carts serve up your favorites, and laughter carries across the lawn.
Start your day at the Monona Farmers Market at Ahuska Park, held every Sunday from May through October, then carry that same community spirit into the evening.
From laid-back, campfire fun at Camp Aldo Evenings at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center to the family-friendly energy of Sunset Games at San Damiano Park, this series of summer events is an invitation to unwind, connect, and play.
Bring the kids. Bring your friends.
Sundays in Monona—summer days into nights, done right.
Events & Activities:
May-Oct | Monona Farmers Market | Ahuska Park
Monona Farmers Market is an award-winning farmers market offering an abundance of fresh foods and local goods from farmers and makers in and near Dane County.
Held every Sunday May through October (rain or shine) at Ahuska Park in Monona from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The market is a safe, open-air experience to stay connected with the community and shop local — without the crowds! It’s not just a place to pick up food but a destination for family fun and a slow Sunday.
2nd Sunday of the month, May through October (May 10, June 14, July 12, Aug. 9, Sept. 13, Oct. 11)
Sunset from San Damiano is thought to be the quintessential sunset view on Lake Monona. One Sunday a month from May through October, we’re adding availability of free lawn games (such as bags, bocce, croquet, and giant Jenga) along with food carts and beverages, to enhance and highlight the enjoyment of this time of day
June-Aug @ 6-9pm | Camp Aldo Evenings | Aldo Leopold Nature Center
Sundays: June 21, July 19, and August 23, 2026 from 6-9pm
Remember what summer camp felt like? Camp Aldo Evenings bring that feeling back—minus the sleeping bags. Enjoy casual evenings at the Nature Center with good food, drinks, music, and time to wander the trails as the sun sets. Kids are welcome to join, and Aldo Leopold Nature Center educators will be on hand to provide childcare for an additional cost for parents that want a little time to connect with other adults. Each evening supports Aldo Leopold Nature Center’s work connecting children and families to nature through hands-on environmental education.
Check out our cool and quirky locally owned small businesses (think reptiles, vinyl, and guava danish) by bike or grab the bus to venture into Madison. Or our favorite: use your phone to rent an ebike from one of our Bcycle stations in our parks to cruise with ease around the beautiful Lake Loop bike trail.
Find discounted hotel rooms with Country Inn & Suites – Monona and enjoy the riverfront walkway.
